Room Counselling is about making space - emotionally and literally - for children and young people aged 5-18.
Room provides specialist counselling support, thoughtfully tailored to each individual’s needs.
We work hard to make counselling accessible and inclusive in our community. Together with our partner team at the Highbury Vale Blackstock Trust we currently provide a limited number of free spaces to families with links to Elizabeth House Community Centre in Islington.
As a not-for-profit organisation, we are able to do this thanks to support we receive from Islington Council’s Community Chest: funded by Islington Council, in partnership with Cripplegate Foundation.
What is Room?
At Room, we have a passion for supporting the mental health of children and young people in our community and in making this support easily accessible to everyone who needs it.
Our therapists have specialist, accredited training to provide counselling and psychotherapy for children and young people. They are registered members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Alongside Room, our therapists work as counsellors supporting children in primary and secondary schools across London.
Who are we?
Through play, creative activities and building a trusted relationship, our therapists create a safe and confidential space, where each young person can make sense of their own feelings and experiences.
What is counselling?
Room Counselling is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC). CICs are a type of limited company designed to benefit the community. They can engage in commercial activities but the majority of profits must be reinvested into the community or the CIC’s social objectives.
We currently support children and young people at Elizabeth House Community Centre, Islington.
